Nicaragua delivered the credentials to the president of the European Commission, which accredit the head of the Nicaraguan mission to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community.

“… César Augusto Castañeda Lacayo delivered to Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, the credentials that ratify him as head of mission of the Republic of Nicaragua before the European Union and before the European Atomic Energy Community, with headquarters in the city of Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium,” cited the press release issued by the government of Nicaragua.

Nicaragua completes accreditation process before the European Union

In December 2023, Nicaragua formally presented its credentials to the European Council, on this occasion, by delivering the credentials, it completes the accreditation process before the European Union.

 “This protocol act and the presentation of credentials to the president of the European Council, carried out in December 2023, complete the protocol process of accreditation before the European Union,” highlighted the press release from the Central American nation.

Castañeda, head of the Nicaraguan mission, during his presentation before the European Commission conveyed the greetings of President Daniel Ortega, the vice president, Rosario Murillo and the People of Nicaragua, according to the written communication.

Likewise, the press release from the government of Nicaragua reported that several countries presented their credentials for accreditation before the European Union, “Ambassadors from Japan, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Serbia, Korea, India, Armenia, Barbados, Bahamas, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Norway, among others.”
