This November 8, the midterm elections are held in the U.S, which the results are predicted to have a huge impact in the two years that remain of the Biden presidency and more.
Every two years these mid-term elections are held, and in some cases these elections coincide with the presidential ones and in others, in the middle of the presidential term, as is the case of this November 8, 2022, in which the Senate and the House of Representatives of the U.S will be renewed this year.
The Democrats were the ones who won in 2020 election, having the majority of votes in the House of Representatives and a tie in the Senate, this has Biden approved some plans of his legislative agenda.
For Republicans, these midterm elections are the first ones since Trump left the White House and they will be the best indicator for the former president to decide whether or not to run as a presidential candidate for 2024.
If Republicans took the control of any chamber, they could stop Biden’s agenda and plans, as well as control the congress investigative committees, which could end the investigation of the Capitol attack on January 06, 2021.
Currently both chambers in the Congress are under Democrats’ control, but today the U.S citizens will elect 435 members for the House of Representatives and 35 of 100 senators.
Voters will also speak out about referendums o issues like abortion, recreational marijuana use, and electoral system.
