Nicaragua advances in the Digital and 5G Transformation Plan with Huawei.

A high delegation from Nicaragua held a meeting with representatives of the Chinese technology company Huawei, in Beijing, in which important advances of the Digital Transformation Plan + 5G for the Latin American nation were presented.

As reported by the Sandinista Government, in a written statement, Nicaraguan government officials had the opportunity to learn up close about “Huawei’s latest innovations and the progress of the Digital Transformation Plan + 5G for Nicaragua has also been presented”.

In this sense, this strategy covers the comprehensive strengthening of telecommunications infrastructure, technologies and services throughout the country, along with education and training initiatives for Nicaraguan professionals.

Strategic project with Huawei

This strategic project will establish a solid long-term relationship with Huawei, consolidating efforts to benefit Nicaraguan citizens and position this type of advanced technology in Central America, as detailed in the official statement.

In relation to the meeting held in July 2023, where various Chinese companies expressed their interest in investing in Nicaragua, highlighting the country’s political stability, this visit to Huawei’s headquarters represents a significant step in the implementation of joint projects.

On that occasion, the Nicaraguan delegation and Chinese companies, including CSCC, CYTS Tours Holding and Huawei, explored existing projects and discussed prospects for new developments in the construction, tourism and telecommunications sectors in Nicaragua.

This meeting is intertwined with the context of consolidated agreements between Beijing and Managua, for development in the areas of housing, road infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, health, thermal energy, water and sanitation, transportation, tourism, technology, agriculture, and hydroelectricity.
