The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, during the meeting in Moscow with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, denounced that the Israeli aggression in Gaza is a genocide that has the support of the West.

The situation suffered by Palestine and the Gaza Strip constitutes a “genocide” and a “crime against humanity” (…) “And what is even sadder, these crimes have the support of the United States and Western countries,” Raisi warned.

Human rights organizations lost their effectiveness

During his visit to Russia, the Iranian president expressed that the Palestinian children killed by Israel’s bombings in Gaza exceed six thousand victims, and he regretted that all these attacks occur in the sight of international human rights organizations that have “lost their effectiveness”.

The president of the Eurasian nation, in the context of the meeting with the Iranian leader, highlighted the exponential growth of trade between both countries. In that sense, according to the Russia Today news network, Putin detailed a 20% increase in 2022, approaching $5 billion.

The Russian presidency, prior to the arrival of the Iranian president, detailed: “It is planned to substantially consider the current agenda of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the implementation of promising joint projects in the trade and economic sphere, including transport and energy. It also intends to exchange views on major international and regional issues”.

Putin accepted the invitation made by Raisi to visit the nation located in the Middle East, the Russian media reported. The Russian leader recently visited Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with the aim of strengthening their strategic cooperation ties in the region.
