A high delegation from the Government of Nicaragua signed another series of agreements with China, for development in the areas of housing, pharmaceuticals, health, thermal energy, water and sanitation, transportation, tourism, technology and agriculture.
In an official statement, the Latin American nation specified: “Within the framework of solidarity, unconditional and fraternal cooperation between China and Nicaragua, the Nicaraguan Government Delegation in Beijing has signed an important package of documents with Comrade Luo Zhaohui, president of the Chinese International Development Cooperation Agency, CIDCA.”
Extensive cooperation between China and Nicaragua
In that sense, the vice president of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, explained that “different cooperation agreements were signed in the People’s Republic of China, we are talking about the second phase of the Nuevas Victorias National Housing Program, we are talking about the 2 thousand Chinese buses «They are coming next year…»
Likewise, he detailed the agreement for “a new power plant, San Benito, with ENEL, thermal energy. We are talking about training workshops for agriculture, livestock, to add value to our products, for digital platforms, tourism,” said the leader of the Latin American nation.
“Then renewable infrastructure projects and the supply of vaccines, which the pharmaceutical company Sinopharm is also promoting, as special plans to deliver to our Nicaragua next year,” Murillo highlighted.
In that sense, the vice president assured that, with these agreements, «we are also strengthening the ties of brotherhood and support, in cooperation between our social movements and (political) parties of the People’s Republic of China and Nicaragua.»
Nicaraguan delegation holds meeting with Chinese companies
In addition, local news media stated that the Nicaraguan commission met with the prestigious company CCCC to follow up on projects related to renewable energy, storm drains and roads in Nicaraguan territory.
In another meeting, Nicaragua held talks with the pharmaceutical company, Sinopharm, in which both parties agreed to explore drug supply opportunities and the possibility of establishing Sinopharm investments in Nicaragua, with the aim of expanding its presence in the Central American market.
Other agreements with companies from China
Within the framework of the work program of the Nicaraguan delegation, a meeting was held with SINOSURE, the Chinese credit insurer. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen strategic projects with the financial support of Chinese banks.
On the other hand, a meeting was held with a delegation from the municipality of Tianjin, in charge of promoting the Lu Ban Workshops, in which cooperation with the National Technological Institute (INATEC) in Nicaragua and other government institutions was discussed.

Nicaragua, in collaboration with China, would strengthen technical training in areas such as agriculture, livestock, clothing, added value, tourism, technologies and digital platforms, among other key sectors for development.

Likewise, the Nicaraguan media highlighted other agreements that were signed with the Asian giant, such as the second phase of the Nuevas Victorias National Housing Program; the exchange of notes for the supply of Chinese buses for Nicaragua; and the signing of a memorandum for the San Benito Thermal Power Plant Project.
