The Chinese drug called «cisplatin» will be used to increase the supply amid the current shortage of the drug in the north American country.

Another drug in short supply is «carboplatin,» which is used in chemo-therapies and the FDA is still exploring the importation of it, but cannot yet provide details on the supplier.

More than a dozen cancer drugs have been in short supply in the U.S. since early 2023, prompting the FDA to take steps to strengthen medical care in the use of the drug.
