The judicial plot that is intended against the former president of the United States Donald Trump, took a new turn recently, when the attorney general of the state of New York, Letitia James, accused Trump and his family of having falsified the value of their assets to obtain financial benefits, which she says it is evidence of possible fraud.

James had formulated the evidence without any legal action, thus forcing Trump and children, Donald Jr. and Ivanka, to testify under oath, but they have so far resisted as the former president denies any wrongdoing.

The Republican described the attorney general’s alleged investigation as a politically motivated «witch hunt» and said his lawyers are preventing him from being questioned. Trump has fired back at James’s arguments, accusing her of being a «corrupt official doing his party’s dirty work.»

In James’ court filing in May 2021, it was the first time that the accusations directed at Trump and company were detailed with specific examples, such as Trump Tower, which indicates a size of 30,000 square feet, when it’s actually 10,996 square feet.

James alleges that the Trump Organization used fraudulent or misleading asset valuations to obtain a variety of economic benefits, including loans, insurance coverage, and tax deductions.

The revelations about the attorney general’s investigation came on the same day that Trump ally Rudy Giuliani and other members of the legal team who had sought to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election were subpoenaed by a committee of the House of Representatives investigating the Capitol insurrection.
