Nicaragua accuses the United States of intervention and destabilization through NGOs.
Nicaragua signals the intervention of the United States in the intent of state governments.
Nicaragua supports the financing of United States through Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) like the National Democracy Fund (NED), to destabilize and perpetuate out sovereign state goals.
“The Government of Nicaragua denounces and condemns the Government of United States and the Western powers that transgress the international right and the peaceful coexistence to impose our neofascist and neocolonial governments, financing and organizing coups through the NED with terrorist actions, destabilizing them. Our constitutional governments, direct and participatory popular democracies that advance against the population, are common good and peace,” declared the Nicaraguan chancellor, Denis Moncada.
As an example, Moncada mentioned the intent of the State Council of Nicaragua in 2018 as an example where the National Democratic Fund (NED) financed millions of dollars for civil society organizations, NGOs, extremist communication media and groups of terrorists with the aim of destroying the democratically elected Nicaraguan government.
“The unipolar dominion of the planet is part of the United States and its subordinating allies was brought about by the emergence of a multipolar world. Faced with this reality, they want to destroy the countries and governments that do not align themselves with Washington,” added the Nicaraguan diplomat.
NED finance destabilization of countries
In this sense, he mentioned that the NED is an «ejector arm» of these policies, affirming that it has channeled millions of funds to finance destabilizing and capital activities in different regions of the world.
Moncada cited examples of Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea, Libya, Syria, Palestine, China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, as white countries financed by the NED. He also mentioned the role of this founding in the implementation of color revolutions and in the so-called “Arab Spring”.
The chancellor of the Latin American country said that the NED was a principal actor to the interference in the internal affairs of other countries, since its creation in the decade of 1980.
«The first interim president is already clear: much of what we have learned was hidden in secret by the CIA for many years», remembered Moncada, highlighting the historical connections between the foundation and the intelligence agencies of the United States.
Furthermore, the Nicaraguan chancellor mentioned that the NED considered an active paper in the covert war against Nicaragua during the 80’s and 90’s, supporting and financing the means of communication and the counter-revolutionary opposition, as in the invasion of Panama in December 1989.
Moncada reaffirmed the firm position of the Nicaraguan government against external aggressions: «The hegemonic imperial power is losing ground and as it rolls towards the precipice, it strikes like a wounded beast against dignified and sovereign governments and peoples who fight, resist and win like Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and other brother peoples.»He added that the people of Nicaragua will continue to defend their sovereignty, independence and well-being.
