High-level representatives of Nicaragua are at the BRICS International Innovation Forum, held in Moscow, Russia, where technological cooperation links between nations and converging companies have been strengthened.
The event in which the Central American nation participates takes place in the period from 27 to 29 August, hosted by officials of the Russian Federation.
The participation of the Nicaraguan delegation in the important forum of the BRICS economic bloc is headed by Nicaragua’s ambassador to the Russian Federation, Alba Azucena Torres, and the mayor of the capital Managua, Reyna Rueda.
This event brings together leaders and representatives from different cities and ministries of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), as well as other nations, to discuss the application of innovative technologies and solutions to improve urban quality of life and promote technological development.
Nicaragua signs cooperation agreement
During this forum, a momentous moment was celebrated with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Managua Mayor’s Office and the Moscow Innovation Agency.
This agreement seeks to strengthen ties between both cities, promoting collaboration in innovative activities, pilot technology projects and scientific exchange. The main objective is to apply advanced technologies in municipal management and services, to benefit the citizens of both localities.
The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda, and the Director General of the Moscow Innovation Agency, Maria Sergeyevna Bogomolova, were the signatories of this important Memorandum of Cooperation.
More than 300 representatives participate in the International Innovation Forum
The BRICS International Innovation Forum has convened more than 300 representatives from 30 countries, including municipal leaders, ministers and government departments of the BRICS nations, as well as from countries such as Nicaragua, Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, Belarus, Benin and the United Arab Emirates Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines and Turkey.

The meeting, which also involves technology companies, explored how modern technologies can positively impact urban development and how to generate appropriate digital environments.
