With 57.66% of the Polling Stations scrutinized in the 2024 Regional Elections in the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, the Sandinista National Liberation Front Alliance received significant support from the citizens, obtaining 89.86% of the votes.
According to Provisional Results provided by the Chairwoman of the Supreme Electoral Council of Nicaragua, Brenda Rocha, who specified a citizen participation rate of 48.30%, the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) obtained a total of 91,580 votes, representing 89.86% of the total valid votes.
Rocha detailed that the Constitutional Liberal Party (PLC) obtained 7.01% of the votes, the Nicaraguan Liberal Alliance (ALN) 1.77%, the Alliance for the Republic Party (APRE) 0.64%, and the Independent Liberal Party Alliance (PLI) 0.71%, all well below the FSLN.
Nicaraguan Caribbeans choose their regional authorities
«We have carried out the 30th activity of the Electoral Calendar, the Victorious Caribbean Elections 2024, where 45 councilors were elected for the North Caribbean Autonomous Region, 45 councilors for the South Caribbean Autonomous Region, and for the first time with their respective alternates (for a total of 180 members), ensuring a 50% participation of women and 50% of men,» highlighted the highest authority of the Electoral Power in the Latin American nation.
Additionally, she thanked the 14 Political Parties that participated in the electoral process, grouped into 5 sections on the Ballot, the observers, «and the technical staff of the Supreme Electoral Council, the Nicaraguan Army, the National Police, and above all our reiterated recognition to the Caribbean people, who participated in this civic celebration in a very participatory and exemplary manner,» she specified.

«We are successfully concluding, thanks to God, with a lot of love, a civic exercise where we saw the leading participation of the sovereign people of our Caribbean Coast. We saw how they came with their families to exercise their vote, where the will of the citizens prevailed, expressed in the transparent, democratic, and peaceful ballot boxes,» Rocha argued.

The electoral authorities reported that in these elections, 4,506 Members of Polling Stations, 7,510 Prosecutors (Owners and Alternates), and 1,855 Electoral Police participated, ensuring the successful development of this civic celebration for the Nicaraguan Caribbeans.
