After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Nicaragua and Qatar expand their ties of friendship and cooperation.

The governments of Nicaragua and Qatar strengthen their strategic cooperation relations, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding that includes agreements of common interest between both nations.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place in Managua, capital of the Latin American nation, during the meeting between the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and member of the Council of State Ministers, Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, with the Chancellor of Nicaragua, Denis Moncada, “to continue strengthening bilateral relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation, between both peoples and governments,” according to an official press release issued by local media.

“We are very pleased, dear friend (Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi), for the progress that together we have promoted in strengthening our bilateral relations, particularly with the signing today of the Memorandum of Understanding, for the establishment of political consultations on matters of common interest between both countries; and the agreement on the mutual exemption of visa requirements for ordinary passport holders, between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Nicaragua,” Moncada highlighted prior to the signing of the agreements.

In addition, the Nicaraguan media highlighted that Laureano Ortega Murillo, Presidential Advisor for Investments, Trade and International Cooperation, participated in the diplomatic event.

In that sense, the Qatari diplomat highlighted the three decades of relations between his country and Nicaragua, and extended his gratitude for the reception from government authorities.

“There are many opportunities that we can see that exist in Nicaragua so that we can contribute as much as possible as a friendly country that we are, the opportunities that exist in education and health,” explained Al-Muraikhi.
