The earth’s core has decreased its rotation speed with the rest of the planet since 2009.
Researchers from Peking University found out that the earth’s core has stopped rotating without knowing it for 15 years.
Seismologists at Peking University in Beijing found that the inner core previously spun faster than the rest of the planet, but stopped doing so sometime in the last 15 years.
The spinning of the Earth’s core is by the magnetic field that is generated in the outer core that is regulated by the gravitational effects. It is the shape of Pluto. The exact cause is not declared yet.
So, it is said that the rotation of the Earth has changed the direction of movement unlike before, but it has not stopped.
This change might affect shorten the duration of the day by some fragment of the milliseconds besides having an effect on the magnetic field of the Earth.
Beyond any major impact in the short-term, however, keeping track of changes to the earth’s movement is critical to better understanding the planet.
The researchers have tentatively suggested that it could be responsible for slight changes to the length of Earth’s days, or oscillations in sea levels and global temperatures.

At the end of the day, though, they conclude that we’ll need to observe future changes, and construct models of the core’s rotation, to figure out if it does significantly affect life on Earth’s crust. In the meantime, the inner core remains a mystery.
