Nicaragua strengthens relations with Türkiye through the delivery of credentials from its ambassador.
Nicaragua and Türkiye strengthen their bilateral relations, with the official delivery of diplomatic credentials by the Nicaraguan ambassador, Tatiana Garcia, to the president of the Middle Eastern nation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to a press release issued by the Government of Nicaragua, “in a ceremony held in the presidential complex of the Republic of Türkiye, Tatiana Garcia Silva presented the credentials that accredit her as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Nicaragua to the president of the sister Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.”
Erdogan highlights opening of the Nicaraguan Embassy
Likewise, it is highlighted that, during the meeting, Erdogan expressed his satisfaction with the opening of the Nicaraguan Embassy in the Eurasian nation and, at the same time, extended his greetings to President Daniel Ortega and the vice president, Rosario Murillo.
Furthermore, Erdoğan stressed that, with the opening of the Nicaraguan Embassy in Türkiye, it “contributes to strengthening bilateral relations, as well as cooperation and trade between both countries,” says the press release.
At the same time, the Turkish president “thanked Nicaragua for its efforts in support of the people of Palestine and a just cause,” detailed the communication from the Latin American State.
In that sense, he said that Silva, Nicaragua’s Ambassador to Turkey, “conveyed fraternal greetings from President Commander Daniel Ortega, Vice President Comrade Rosario Murillo and our Nicaraguan people to President Erdoğan.”
Likewise, in their declaration, the Nicaraguan authorities stressed Nicaragua’s purpose in strengthening the historical relations of friendship and solidarity between our countries.
In October 2023, a high Nicaraguan delegation participated in the “Grand Congress of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Türkiye that was held in the Capital Ankara, within the framework of the celebrations of the Centenary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye,” the Sandinista government reported.

During the visit of the Nicaraguan representatives, the Turkish president showed broad interest on the part of his government to establish embassies in both countries, according to a press release released by the State of Nicaragua.

In this context, during the meeting held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua, Denis Moncada; Erdoğan expressed his hope that Nicaragua continues its social and economic development under the direction of the president, Daniel Ortega; and Vice President Rosario Murillo.
