Book of condolences is signed in Nicaragua after the death of the president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, and members of the government who accompanied him.

Nicaragua says goodbye to the president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, by signing the Book of Condolences.

Authorities of the Government of Nicaragua attended the Iranian Embassy in the Latin American nation, where they honored the president, Ebrahim Raisi, by signing the Book of Condolences; chancellor, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian; and officials who died in the plane crash.

“The President of the National Assembly, Dr. Gustavo Porras, and the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed in the embassy of this brother country this May 21, the Book of Condolences of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian and his entourage, who died this Sunday in a plane crash on the border with Azerbaijan, an event that has left Tehran and the world with pain and mourning,” highlighted the Nicaraguan Parliament website.

In 2023 Raisi met in Nicaragua with President Daniel Ortega, to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Managua.

Furthermore, it was cited that “the feeling of unity and struggle for the right to self-determination, independence, sovereignty, and for a world in Peace, in which the traditions, cultures, customs and histories of our peoples are respected, was transmitted by Dr. Gustavo Porras to the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Moslem Chenarí, who thanked this gesture of solidarity that unites our Peoples and Governments.”

The symbolic event held at the headquarters of the Persian embassy in Managua, was attended by representatives of the central government of Nicaragua, diplomats and other dignitaries, who expressed their feelings of support for the Iranian people.

During 2023, Raisi met in Nicaragua with the President of the Sandinista Government, Daniel Ortega, with the purpose of strengthening bilateral cooperation and undertaking together in commercial, technological and logistical development, for the advancement of both nations in brotherhood.
