Russia condemns the coercive measures of the United States by imposing sanctions against the State of Nicaragua.
The United States imposed sanctions on the Russian Interior Ministry Training Center in Nicaragua.
Russia, through its Foreign Ministry, denounced the sanctions imposed by the United States against the Training Center of the Russian Ministry of the Interior located in Nicaragua.
In that sense, the Russian Foreign Ministry, through its spokesperson, María Zajárova, pointed out that the coercive measures of the United States against Nicaragua are “ridiculous and dangerous,” and also referred to the fact that these are driven by a double-dollar policy. standards that attack and divide political actors into good and bad, according to their interests.
“In the delirium of sanctions, the current American ruling elite strikes indiscriminately,” added the Russian diplomat.
The sanctions against Nicaragua “are a clear shot in the foot, ridiculous and dangerous not only for the Americans themselves, who do everything possible to protect themselves from the uncontrolled migratory flow from the south and drug trafficking, which has overwhelmed the country, but also for its neighbors,” the Russian official pointed out.
Russian Training Center contributes to security in the region
During her intervention, Zajárova stated that the Russian Training Center in Managua is “one of the best institutions in the region” to train officials in various areas of security, having trained more than 2,000 specialists from several Latin American countries, such as: Bolivia, Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, among others.
Likewise, he emphasized that the training provided at the Russian Training Center covers the field of cybersecurity, the fight against money laundering, extremism, terrorism, organized crime and transportation security.
Highlighting that the cooperation between both nations is “absolutely transparent and is aimed at solving specific tasks in the fight against crime.”
Furthermore, he stressed that collaboration in the fight against drug trafficking has contributed to Nicaragua becoming the safest country in Central America.
However, despite the measures imposed by the United States, Zajárova assured that the work of the training center will not stop. “We will continue to fight drug trafficking with those partners who share our security objectives.”
The United States also announced sanctions for the Compañía Minera Internacional, Sociedad Anónima (COMINTSA) and Capital Mining Investment Nicaragua, Sociedad Anónima (Capital Mining ).
International rejection of US sanctions against Nicaragua
The governments of Venezuela and Cuba rejected the coercive measures carried out by the United States against Nicaragua, which together with the West seeks to undermine the “anti-imperialist and patriotic will” of Nicaraguans.
In that sense, from Venezuela they issued a statement that cited: “The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its deepest rejection of the new aggressions perpetrated by the Government of the United States against the people and Government of Nicaragua, by imposing…, coercive measures unilateral actions against two mining companies that operate in Nicaraguan territory, as well as against the Training Center of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation located in the city of Managua.”
For its part, Cuba, through its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, declared in “that in another interventionist attempt they seek to hit strategic sectors of the Nicaraguan economy, harm its people and the legitimate Government of Reconciliation and National Unity.”
Likewise, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), spoke out against the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Nicaragua.
“The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America-People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) categorically reject the new arsenal of unilateral and illegal sanctions that the United States government has imposed on citizens and companies. Nicaraguans,” indicated the regional organization.
Furthermore, ALBA -TCP in its official statement warned that “these joint measures by the Departments of State and Treasury of the United States seek to alter the economic and political stability of this country, to hinder its legitimate right to development.”
