Opposition political sectors in Nicaragua demanded the release of Jeison Castro Ortez, who on January 14, 2019 was sentenced to more than 13 years in prison for hindering public services, aggravated robbery and organized crime. Less than a year after being benefited from the Amnesty Law, the supposed “political prisoner” recently took the life of his wife, the young, Ruth Elizabeth Acevedo, from jinotepe.

In the long list of subjects who were classified as “political prisoners” by these opposition groups, not only female killers, but also rapists of children, murderers, and even people involved in drug trafficking and organized crime, threatening the security of Nicaraguan families.
