The new Nicaraguan ambassador to El Salvador, Luis Briones, delivered his diplomatic credentials to the president, Nayib Bukele, who highlighted the importance of bilateral relations to strengthen Central American unity.
“President Bukele, upon receiving the credentials, sent a greeting of Central American brotherhood to the President-Commander Daniel Ortega Saavedra and the Vice President, Rosario Murillo and underlined the importance of regional unity and the crucial role that bilateral relations play in advancing of the common objectives,” the Nicaraguan government said in a press release.
Furthermore, according to the press release, Bukele added that «beyond the growing commercial relationship between El Salvador and Nicaragua, we must rescue the historical ties of affection and brotherhood that have united us over time.»
Nicaragua and El Salvador strengthen diplomatic ties
The statement from the State of Nicaragua also stated: “Comrade Briones, in his presentation message, conveyed to the Salvadoran president the fraternal embrace of the President-Commander Daniel Ortega Saavedra and the Vice President, Rosario Murillo, expressed her deep commitment to strengthening of diplomatic ties and bilateral cooperation.”
“Nicaragua and El Salvador share not only a common geography, but also a destiny of prosperity and development that we can achieve together… “Our Nicaraguan people feel a deep affinity and affection for our Salvadoran brothers. We are here to build a future where Peace, Progress and solidarity are our guides,” the Nicaraguan diplomat emphasized.
In that sense, the dialogue focused on issues of common interest, including economic integration, sustainable development and the promotion of peace and stability in the region, Nicaragua detailed.

“The relationship between Nicaragua and El Salvador is a heart-to-heart relationship. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can build a bright future for our nations,” said Briones.

The letter from the Government of Nicaragua concluded: “This ceremony reaffirms the commitment of both countries to strengthen their ties and advance on a common path towards a future of prosperity and shared well-being.”
