Iran strengthens its diplomatic relations in Latin America

The President of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, confirms his visit to Nicaragua, Cuba and Venezuela, located in Latin America and the Caribbean, a region that has become an important geopolitical, economic and commercial axis in the new global context.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (INRA) specified that the president will leave the Middle Eastern nation on June 11, at the head of a high-ranking delegation, to begin his tour through those Latin American countries.

It is expected that this new Iranian tour will consolidate diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation in fields of common interest with the Latin American nations he is scheduled to visit.

“Several documents to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields will be signed between the authorities of Iran and the three countries during Raisi’s visit to the Latin American region,” INRA highlighted.

The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, commented on the visit of President Raisi, that they are “ready to receive him with great affection, with great esteem, appreciating these moments and this opportunity to welcome him in this Heroic Nicaragua, this Blessed Nicaragua, Always Dignified, Always Sovereign”.

At the beginning of February, in his first visit to Latin America, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hos-sein Amir Abdollanhián, was in Nicaraguan territory, where he held meetings with different representatives of the Central American country, and strengthened bilateral cooperation relations.

Likewise, in 2022, the foreign ministers of Managua and Teheran signed the Comprehensive Cooperation Program between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua.
